Berlin's oldest bouldering hall, on the Spree at Rummelsburger Bucht since 2010.
Founded in 2010 by Lutz Schneider and Jakob Hoppstock, Ostbloc was Berlin's first bouldering-only hall and remains one of the most respected. Just over 1,000m² along the Rummelsburger Bucht, the hall features unusually structured walls with prominent wood volumes, deep landing mats, and three-dimensional setting. Two of the eleven sectors are reset every week. Ostbloc pioneered Berlin's color-graded system and hosts the regional Ostbloc Cup competition. The bistro has an indoor terrace looking out over the harbor, and a sauna runs Wednesday/Thursday evenings in spring.
