blockwerk has been Mainz' main dedicated bouldering hall since 2007, housed in the atmospheric grounds of the Alte Waggonfabrik in Mainz-Mombach. Two halls offer routes across all difficulty levels, and a 25-problem teaching course is reset weekly to support beginner progression. A regular Monday beginners course teaches the basics with rental shoes available, and the hall runs courses, workshops, and kids' programs alongside open bouldering. Located between Am Schützenweg and Hauptstraße, easily reached by tram from central Mainz.
